Melcourt Softwood Playchips® are a high-performance, processed and selectively screened Loose Impact Absorbing Surface (LIAS), designed to deliver reliable safety, durability, and natural aesthetics in children’s play areas and landscaped spaces. Manufactured from specially processed conifer wood, these playchips provide excellent impact attenuation, rapid drainage, and year-round usability.
Ideal for environments where high movement and ground falls are likely, Melcourt Softwood Playchips® are particularly suited to areas beneath and around play equipment, between individual play spaces, and adjacent to fixed structures. In addition to play areas, they can also be used effectively for pathways, offering a stable, free-draining and visually sympathetic surface.
Independently tested to recognised British and European standards and sourced from FSC® Mix Sources (minimum 70%), this product combines trusted safety performance with responsible environmental credentials, making it a preferred choice for schools, nurseries, parks, public spaces, and domestic gardens.
