Developed from a Melcourt compost widely used by professional landscapers across the UK, it delivers reliable, proven performance for both domestic and professional planting projects.
This 100% peat-free planting compost is made from natural, British, sustainable materials including high-quality bark and green compost. It is free-flowing, easy to handle and simple to mix into existing soils, improving soil structure, moisture retention and nutrient availability where plants need it most. Balanced, slow-release nutrients provide sustained feeding during the crucial establishment phase, helping plants settle quickly and grow strongly.

SylvaGrow Rose, Tree and Shrub is a planting-out compost, ideal for improving garden soils and supporting plant establishment. It is suitable for:
- Roses
- Trees and shrubs
- Herbaceous perennials
- Bedding plants
- Fruit trees and fruit bushes
- Herbs
- Blend 1 part SylvaGrow with 3–4 parts garden soil for backfilling
- Water plants thoroughly before planting; bare roots may be soaked for up to 30 minutes
- Ensure planting pits are well integrated with surrounding soil
- Plant at the same soil level as previously grown
- Firm gently, avoiding compaction, and water well
- Regular watering is essential during establishment, especially in warmer months
- Maintain plant health with an annual dressing of garden compost or fertiliser
Raised Beds
- Mix 1 part SylvaGrow with 2–3 parts loam or garden soil
- Ideal for vegetables and strawberries
- Supplementary feeding is recommended, as vegetables are heavy feeders
